How Much Do YOU Spend on Jeans?

Perhaps it's because I don't think that my hiney DESERVES $100 jeans, or that I don't think I look that good anyway that $40 jeans will do - but I'm confused about this spending huge amounts of money on a pair of frickin' pants!

What I do know is that I WILL NOT spend $100 on jeans. I've seriously only spent that much on shoes 2 times in my life and that's because I got credit card happy.

What I want to know is - Do $100 jeans really make you look that much better? Seriously? Or are you just justifying the money by saying that they make you look better. I don't get it.

I know I'm always asking for enlightenment, but I'm asking for it again. Help me understand this way of thinking (and spending money).

I haven't done it, but I have friends.. OhMommy and TexasHolly who swear that I have to buy some 7 (?) jeans.

And just 2 minutes ago I finished reading a post by NapWarden about trying on a pair of *gasp* $365 jeans and falling in love with them, of course she only paid $50 for them because she's cool like that. But still, I've never done it... but they're trying to drag me to the dark (denim) side.

Oh that's funny. My friend and I were just talking about this. I've spent (or should I say invested?) as much as $400 on jeans. The fit was great as well as the cut. Aside from that, they last forever. The fabric and color stands the test of time. I seldom buy jeans, but when I do I invest on a good pair. I buy decently priced jeans as well and they don't last as long. [Long = 10 years] Not that I really want them to last that long, but they do.

I'm a "cheap jeans" girl. The most expensive pair I've ever owned were $50 but usually I spend more like $30 .

My body keeps changing sizes too much to justify more expensive jeans (even if I wanted some). I've never even tried on more expensive jeans so can't comment on the fit.

I think the most I've spent on jeans was $30. Usually I'll buy my jeans off of ebay. I don't even buy brand new jeans for myself let alone a $100+ pair of jeans!

I don't wear jeans...but I have spent $100 on a shirt before, and I am scared to wear it for fear of ruining it. But it sure is pretty.

Now, shoes are a different story. You get what you pay for there, and I have had $100 shoes that have lasted me for 5 years and were comfortable the whole time I've owned them.

I too am a "cheap" jeans girl. I have such a list of items to spend money on that my wardrobe wants are usually at the bottom. This doesn't really bother me much because I am not a shopper. When I do shop, I'd prefer to shop for someone else. However, it seems you are in a spot where new clothes may be a necessity. I'd still go cheap especially when I know I will only be wearing them a short while.

Take it for what it's worth, I think they are for people who have a bad self-esteem. Who in their right mind has $100 to blow on a pair of jeans. Most the time they look like crap, holes everywhere, I can cut up my own pants for a lot cheaper.

m.a.r.k.e.t.i.n.g. My daughter's friends buy the most expensive jeans they can afford and still don't look like the models in the ads.

If you've got the shape for it, cheap Wranglers will look hotter than any hundred-dollar jeans.

If you look like me, no amount of expense will help. Darn.

Why is a pregnant woman complaining about buying jeans anyway, unless it has a stretch belly on the top :)
I picked up two pair of Gap jeans for less than $30 when I worked there last Christmas, that normally retail for $75. I hope they fit again after this baby is done growing and stretching my body! I couldn't pay that much for jeans, I could never explain the reason WHY to the hubby!

I've never spent more than $6 on a pair of Jeans since I moved out of my parents home 5 years ago. The DI is just fine for me :)

Uh, I agree with you! $100 jeans is sooo not for me! I have a ton of other things that I can do with that money!
Jeans are jeans! As long as they fit right and are comfortable, they work for me. Of course I also know that jeans in "larger" sizes cost a little more , I guess for the extra inch of material they have to use!

I would NEVER spend a $100 on jeans. Not eve $50. I'm cheap- but hey people the only debt I have is my house and student loans- so there. Nothing feels as good as that!
