I totally know how you feel. Christmas of 2006 one of our bathroom's flooded and we decided that we would just gut it and remodel it. We wanted to do it just not right then. At the same time we also decided since our Master and hall bathrooms share the wet wall, that we would just do both at once. We finished the hall bathroom quickly and I still don't have a toilet in our master. It's ready to go in it's just a matter of finding the time to do it. So I am jealous that you don't have to go down the hall anymore because I still do!
Melanie: I'm not necessarily a nag but in your case I might resort to it! Two years is a long time to wait!
It doesn't take long to install a toilet guys! Come on! :)
Personally, while I'm sure that the hole is plugged somehow, the toilet is a barrier to raw sewage. When we were tiling a bathroom in the old house, I had the toilet out for 3 days and was really agitated by it the entire time. I couldn't stop imagining all of the sewage gasses and foul stuff seeping into the house. Yuck!
Steve - Lol...such a man. Personally I wouldn't have even the slightest CLUE how to even begin installing a toilet. That's only partially my fault as if I even come within 2' of a tool other than hammer or screwdriver, DH freaks and swears I'm going to bring the house down. I'm just not handy and so fortunately have married someone who is very handy. I do agree with those sick fumes though - my germaphob personality just cringes whenever I go in that room.

i guess it's all in one's interpretation of "handy" then. i could seriously tell stories.
